Senior Closing Specialist
SUMMARY
The Senior Closing Specialist is responsible for all aspects of loan closing and perfection of collateral.
Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act) Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act), Elder Abuse Laws, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.
REQUIRED DUTIES
1. Responsible for day-to day loan closing duties, including, monitoring e-mails, ordering tax service contracts, collateral perfection and funding of loans.
2. Ability to close all loan types, including large and complex commercial loans.
3. Prioritizes workload to accommodate the fast-paced environment and time-sensitive deadlines.
4. Assists with various department functions in the absence of staff members or in the case of high-volume situations.
5. Offers feedback and suggests solutions to issues that may arise throughout the closing process.
6. Provides support to Loan Documentation and areas of the department, in which service or assistance is needed.
7. Collects and reviews documents required for closing.
8. Interacts and communicates effectively with commercial lenders and the SBA Closing Team to ensure loans are closed, in accordance with the terms of the loans.
9. Works closely with escrow, title, and lending personnel to ensure timely and efficient loan closings, as well as, to clear any collateral defects for completion of the documentation file.
10. Ensures loan closing, funding, wire preparation and forwarding of loan for booking are completed within set timeframes and guidelines.
11. Conducts on-line searches for Company's data, files UCC's, order tax service contracts and generates various other reports.
12. Reviews UCC post-search reports and title policies to ensure Company's correct lien position.
13. Maintains and collects loan and collateral documents and provides related documents, as required, to the Loan Operations Department, lending personnel and for internal and external audits.
14. Ensures loan and collateral documents are scanned into the Company's designated document management system.
15. Assists with training of new closing staff members on the department's closing process and procedures.
16. Prepares tracking and other reports, as required.

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one's own actions and conduct.
21. Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred and 5 or more years of related experience and/or training. Work related experience must consist of commercial real estate, C & I and SBA Lending background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or technical industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
- Knowledge and understanding of loan documentation, structure and loan closing.
- Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system, word processing, typing and spreadsheet software programs to meet the needs of the position.
- Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
- Advanced time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
Pay $45,000 - $68,000 per year. The salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up from the beginning to mid-point of the salary range. Successful candidates may be eligible for [bonus/stock/commissions/incentives] at the Company's sole discretion.
