The Role 🥳

We are establishing a new engineering team in San Francisco to address critical operational challenges. If you are an experienced software engineer eager to be a part of our founding team that is scaling fast, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact on a category-defining product at an early stage in the company’s history.

At Relevance AI, your work will reach customers within hours, offering a rare opportunity to see the impact of your contributions in real-time. You’ll have autonomy and trust to lead key projects and mentor team members without being weighed down by unnecessary layers of approval.

You’ll work across our modern Node.js/TypeScript tech stack, which we’re constantly optimising to move and iterate faster. Your Impact 💥

• As a founding member in San Francisco, you will have exceptional autonomy to solve critical problems and deliver high visibility impact to the team.

• You will build and maintain high-quality features for Relevance AI’s products.

• Deliver critical infrastructure and backend work, with potential focus on performance engineering.

• Be part of an on-call rotation to monitor and address issues in the platform as well as resolve any bugs reported by users.

• Proactively recommend and implement improvements to Relevance’s code base, processes, and internal tools.

• Be a leader and mentor for the team. Force-multiply others’ work and leave things better than when you found them.

• Contribute to Relevance’s culture – be a helpful, passionate and engaged team member with a bias to action.

What We’re Looking For 🧠

• 4+ years of software engineering experience. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development experience, with particular skills in back-end and infrastructure work.

• On-call experience is highly valued.

• Skilled in TypeScript / Node.js and experience with AWS.

• Ability to proactively self-manage and deliver work independently.

• Thrive in high-performance, fast-paced environments with a startup mindset.

• Excel at problem-solving, taking ownership, and delivering exceptional results.

• Are passionate about AI and eager to work on category-defining technology.

Bonus Points if You Have Any Of The Following ⭐

• Experience designing systems for real-world users or enterprise environments.

• Experience with full-stack application performance tuning.

• Contributed to open-source projects (show us your GitHub!).

• Knowledge of AI workflows, LLMs, or agent-based systems.

• Specific experience with any of the following technologies:

  • Vue.js, Nuxt, and Express.js

  • Multi-tenanted AWS deployments using Lambda, Batch, and ECS/EC2.

  • MongoDB and PostgreSQL

  • Enterprise deployments, e.g. role-based access controls, compliance frameworks, or on-premise cloud deployments
