JOB‌ ‌OBJECTIVE:‌ ‌‌ As‌ ‌a‌ ‌member‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌Post‌ ‌Ranch‌ ‌Inn‌ ‌and‌ ‌Sierra‌ ‌Mar‌ ‌Restaurant,‌ ‌the‌ ‌Sommelier‌ ‌will‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌a‌ ‌world-class‌ ‌guest‌ ‌experience‌ by interacting with guests and supporting the service team with wine offerings.

MINIMUM‌ ‌EDUCATION‌ ‌&‌ ‌EXPERIENCE:‌ ‌ ‌

• Must‌ ‌have‌ ‌a‌ ‌High‌ ‌School‌ ‌diploma,‌ ‌and‌ ‌college‌ ‌or‌ ‌secondary‌ ‌education‌ ‌preferred‌ ‌

• Must‌ ‌have‌ ‌at‌ ‌least‌ ‌2‌ ‌years‌ ‌of‌ ‌Sommelier experience in a fine dining atmosphere ‌ ‌ ‌

• Prior‌ ‌training,‌ ‌development‌ ‌and/or‌ ‌supervisory‌ ‌experience‌ ‌is‌ ‌required‌ ‌ ‌

• Proven‌ ‌track‌ ‌record‌ ‌of‌ ‌providing‌ ‌a‌ ‌unique‌ ‌guest‌ ‌experience‌ ‌ ‌

• Continual‌ ‌interest‌ ‌in‌ ‌staying‌ ‌up‌ ‌to‌ ‌date‌ ‌with‌ ‌food,‌ ‌wine,‌ ‌and‌ ‌fine‌ ‌dining‌ ‌trends‌ ‌

• Ability‌ ‌to‌ ‌establish‌ ‌effective‌ ‌partnerships‌ ‌with‌ ‌all‌ ‌departments‌ ‌ ‌

PHYSICAL‌ ‌REQUIREMENTS:‌ ‌

• Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions on a regular basis such as grasping, writing, typing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on varying ground levels with stairs on a regular basis

• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a consistent basis and to bend, stoop, stretch, climb and squat frequently to fulfill a range of manual tasks
