Project Accountant PT
We are a family owned and operated General Contractor in North San Diego County, Escondido specializing in high-quality Retail and Commercial Construction.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Project Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will support project managers and accounting staff by handling accounts payable/receivable, contract billing, and project close-out tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain project files (electronic and physical).
- Process subcontractor and supplier invoices; ensure compliance before payments are released.
- Prepare project billings, update schedules of values, and support documentation requirements.
- Enter and maintain billing, payments, and purchase orders in Sage 100.
- Track waivers, joint check agreements, and compliance documentation.
- Follow up with clients on past due receivables and subcontractors on outstanding requirements.
- Assist with project close-out, including releases, reconciliations, and archiving.
- Maintain and assist with SOP creation for new processes/ vendor portals, etc.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting or project accounting experience (construction industry a plus).
- Familiarity with Sage 100 or similar accounting software is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Professional written and phone/email communication.
