Senior CNC Turning & Milling Setup Lead
A day in this role
You start at the bench with a print and solid model, confirming GD&T callouts and planning the most efficient path from raw stock to finished part. You select and stage CNC tooling, set work and tool offsets, and bring a 3–4 axis VMC or a 2–4 axis CNC lathe online safely and efficiently. With a keen eye, you verify in-process dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and GO/NO-GO gages, making minor G- and M-code adjustments and executing quick changeovers to keep parts flowing within spec—and profitably.
Throughout the shift, you coordinate with your team, balance multiple jobs, and keep documentation crisp and accurate. Clear, precise English communication keeps handoffs smooth and quality consistent. Your high attention to detail ensures every feature meets the print, every time.
What you bring
- 7–10 years of hands-on CNC lathe and mill setup and operation
- 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Fluency in GD&T with the ability to interpret complex prints/solid models
- Proven track record producing parts safely, consistently, within standards, and profitably
- Exceptional attention to detail; able to juggle multiple projects and meet self-imposed deadlines
- Ability to read and communicate extremely effectively in English
- Proficiency with measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, GO/NO-GO gages
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity
