Job Description and Duties
Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent, Full-Time appointment for Program Director. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, through partnership with diverse groups of leaders (clinical, technology, administration and financial) and stakeholders provide oversight of the EHR initiative and EHR related projects at the hospital level in collaboration with the Continuum-EHR Project Team in support of the Department of State Hospital’s goals and objectives. A Training and Development (T&D) assignment may be considered. The position is subject to budget approval.
Incumbent will have the overall responsibility for directing a training and quality assurance program for EHR implementation at the facility, reviewing and approving training plans and evaluating progress in training all clinical staff at the facility. Develop, distribute and manage EHR project communications to all facility staff. Establish local hospital operational policies and procedures to meet critical EHR project objectives. Ensure policies and procedures are developed and followed; and identify areas of improvement/streamlining to increase effectiveness in obtaining customer satisfaction. Establish standard of performance necessary to achieve defined EHR project objectives.
The Program Director directs the activities of a multidisciplinary treatment staff in achieving program goals and individual forensic client, patient, or inmate objectives. The Program Director is responsible for the planning, organizing, managing and supervising the activities of their assigned Program.

Working Conditions
Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.

- Experience leading large-scale projects such as data quality assessments, process/data mapping for application development, and gathering information for large-scale technology efforts.
- Experience in collaborating on one or more of the following: data warehouse development, data quality reviews, data migration, data standardization.
- The incumbent must have the ability to work independently, must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, as well as engage with a variety of stakeholders (including clinical, operational, and executive) utilizing impeccable interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex program issues clearly to executive leadership, policymakers, stakeholders, and the public.
- Experience guiding the creation of visual communications products and marketing collateral, including familiarity with graphic design and multimedia production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) sufficient to direct quality standards and ensure effective execution.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including experience integrating research findings and data insights into communications, stakeholder engagement, or policy development efforts.

Training and Development information
T&D assignments are temporary assignments of up to 24 months for training purposes. DSH encourages the use of T&D assignments to provide employees the opportunity to obtain any or a combination of the following:
- Provide the experience necessary to satisfy the experience component of the minimum qualifications of the T&D classification or gain competencies for the preferred or desirable qualifications of the T&D classification;
- Provide employees broader experience and skills that will improve their ability to perform in their current position;
- Help prepare employees for future promotions; or
- Facilitate an employee’s entry into a new occupational field .
An employee must have permanent status in the present classification. An employee currently in a Limited Term position is not eligible for a T&D assignment. The employee may, but is not required to, satisfy the minimum qualifications of the T&D classification; except, the employee shall possess any licensure, certificate, or similar credential that is a component of the minimum qualifications.
