Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.***PRIOR TO SIGNING THE CONTRACT, THE DYS EXAM THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED AND MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS. IT S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET 2 ATTEMPTS TO SCORE 80%. A SCREENSHOT SHOWING THE NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IS REQUIRED. ***If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for CommonSpirit AZ and Sac-CSICU - Cardiovascular Surgical ICU float to MSNICU (Neuro experience preferred)****MUST HAVE 2 FULL YEARS EXP IN CVICU AND WORKED 1 TRAVEL ASSIGNMENT TO BE CONSIDERED****THIS IS A VERY HIGH ACUITY CVICU - the right candidate is proactive/confident to ask for help when needed. MUST work all cases assigned, can't make special accommodations-# beds: 20-Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS-Ratios: 1:1-2-EMR: Cerner-Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.-Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates-Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend-Holidays: Rotate in with core staff-Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.-Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.-Vents: Yes-Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist-IV Team: No-RT 24/7: Yes-Pharmacy 24/7: Yes-Shifts: 12 hr shifts. Days start at 0545 and Nights start at 1745. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves \"available\" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available.-FloatingAll other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.-Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.-Common diagnosis / Types of patientsPre and fresh postop CABG (goal is extubation in 6hrs), LVADs, Empallas, IABP, TAVRs, CRRT (Next Stage), all critical drips, Swan monitoring. There are many pathway protocols in use.-Additional Notes: Travelers will not take LVADs. Core staff will validate skill for CABG recovery, IABP, and CRRT. IABP is not 1:1. Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks Charting BSN License to Trauma Level: Care Shift Nights, EOW, First to Float Required , BLS Certification, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Contract Weeks:91
