This role involves systematic data extraction from government documents and construction of research datasets. Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities
- Extract and code information from PDF government documents into structured Excel databases
- Maintain consistent coding protocols across multiple document sources
- Verify data accuracy through systematic quality checks
- Document data collection procedures and edge cases
- Communicate regularly with research team on progress and data issues
- Completed MGSC 220 (Business Statistics) with grade of B or higher
- Advanced Excel proficiency: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, data validation, conditional formatting
- Demonstrated attention to detail in academic or professional work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while following structured protocols
- Experience with data cleaning or research assistance
- Familiarity with PDF text extraction tools
- Prior coursework in analytics
- Interest in labor economics or public policy research
