About the team/role
In this role as a Senior Staff Product Manager, Platform, you will be responsible for building the people data platform for Checkr. The PeopleData function serves as the foundational pillar for all data at Checkr. Its core mandate is to ensure the accurate, timely, and cost-effective acquisition and processing of the vast amounts of data required to power those products. This includes the critical responsibility of strategically managing routing with various data vendors, ensuring reliable data quality, and continuously expanding data coverage to enhance the comprehensiveness and accuracy of our results.
As a Senior Staff Product Manager on this team, you will work closely with engineering and other cross-functional partners to define and execute the product strategy for our data platform. You will solve complex challenges such as expanding data coverage with vendors and manual fulfillment, fulfilling searches in the most efficient manner through intelligent orchestration and anomaly detection for any deviations in data quality & Turn around time. The projects you’ll be working on are high impact and scale: you’ll be advancing our architecture and systems to lead Checkr into the next generation of product offerings. The decisions you make will impact millions of people every year, and help businesses make fast, informed, and safe decisions.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to define the platform product vision and strategy.
- Conduct research and gather feedback from stakeholders to inform platform product decisions.
- Develop and prioritize the platform product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
- Work closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality platform features and improvements on turn around time.
- Define and analyze key metrics to measure platform product success and drive continuous improvement.
- Communicate platform product updates and insights to stakeholders across the organization.
- Lead platform product launches and ensure successful adoption by internal teams and customers.
What you bring
- 10+ years as a PM, with recent experience working on a platform product
- Strong understanding of platform engineering principles and technologies
- Experience in understanding the data, legal, and technical nuances of supporting complex products
- Exposure to vendor API integrations, anomaly detection and search orchestration
- Attention to detail is a must. You have an instinct for good platform design
- An ability to manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way
- Ability to be fly-high and fly-low in a high-performance environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. Individuals are expected to work from the office 2 to 3 days a week. Starting January 2026, hub-based employees will be expected to work from the office 3 days per week. In-office perks are provided, such as lunch four times a week, a commuter stipend, and an abundance of snacks and beverages.

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. The base salary range for this role is $247,000 to $290,000 in San Francisco, CA.
