Job Opening ID: 63587 Reports To: Personnel Analyst Working Title: STUDENT PROGRAM COORDINATOR Department: Soc Sci/Undergrad Stud Affairs Bargaining Unit: 99 FLSA: Exempt Payroll Job Code: 004564 Job Location: UCI Campus- Irvine Percent of Time: 100% Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F Employee Class: Staff Position Summary: The Undergraduate Leadership and Community Programs unit within the School of Social Sciences at UC Irvine is seeking a highly organized, resourceful and detail-oriented multi-tasker to provide high quality support and customer service to undergraduates, faculty and staff while assisting with the oversight of the daily and programmatic operations. As a member of the School of Social Sciences, the incumbent is tasked with upholding and exemplifying excellence in the University's core competencies- job mastery, goal accomplishment, enterprise contribution and innovation- while representing the Dean, Associate Dean and the School of Social Sciences to members of the campus and the community at large. As the University continues to expand and shift culturally, it is imperative that the incumbent is a team player, supporting change management at the department level while aiding in the facilitation of effective change School-wide. Using knowledge and skills as a seasoned, experienced Student Services professional, performs the full range of duties and responsibilities within a Student Life specialization, formulating and administering non-academic student programs. This is a key position within the SocSci undergraduate programs unit reporting directly to the Director of Undergraduate Programs. The position provides direct student advising, analytical and operational support to a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular programming activities conducted in support of our more than 6000 undergraduate students by advising and providing guidance on career preparation and graduate school options. The position demands a passion for student engagement, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, community members, organizations, and donors. The successful incumbent will have strong analytical and time management skills, good attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. $60,000.00 - $84,000.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $56,200.00 - $96,800.00 (Annual Salary) Department Website:Required:
- 1-2 years of relvant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
- Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs / Student Life specialization.
- Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
- Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills.
- Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
