Job Details:
Job Title: Cable and Harness Technician 2
Location: Goleta, CA 93117
Duration: 12 months

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Manufacture electrical harness assemblies and interpret schematics
• Perform soldering, crimping, contact insertion/removal, and harness routing
• Conduct basic electrical tests (continuity, insulation resistance)
• Apply structural bonding and coatings using epoxy and silicone adhesives
• Use precision hand tools and torque tools
• Maintain paperwork and electronic data for material traceability
• Follow procedures and collaborate with engineers on new processes
• Organize and determine assembly order for complex harnesses and structures

Mandatory Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience
• Experience with electrical harness assemblies; ability to interpret schematics and perform continuity and insulation resistance tests
• Experience working from procedures, drawings, or sketches and collaborating with engineers
• Knowledge of soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, insertion/removal, harness routing, and strain relief (certification evidence required)
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts
• US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:
• J-STD-001 Soldering Certification
• NASA STD 8739.1 Certification
• NASA STD 8739.4 Certification
• Familiarity with solar cell technology and CIC wiring
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
• Basic shop math skills
• Microsoft Office skills
• Self-starter with strong motivation and adaptability
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Familiarity with ISO standards and compliance
