Under general direction of the Information Technology Manager (IT Mgr) I, the IT Supervisor (IT Sup) II performs complex and sensitive tasks involving initial approval of significant information technology (IT) projects within the State government and oversees these projects to enhance IT project implementation success. TeleworkThis position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule within California based on departmental policy and operational needs. The telework policy is subject to change depending on business needs, and/or reporting to the work site may be required with minimal notification given. Pursuant to Executive Order, effective July 1, 2025, employees in this position will be required to report to the work site a minimum of two (2) days per week, increasing to four (4) days per week effective July 1, 2026. The specific on-site days will be determined by the department based on operational requirements. Visa Sponsorship

Working Conditions
CA Residency:
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, upon a job offer, candidates must provide proof of residence in California prior to their appointment becoming effective, or the offer may be rescinded.

- May be required to travel to customer department sites primarily in Sacramento County; however, occasionally may include other locations in California.

If such misrepresentation is discovered after appointment, it may constitute dishonesty and could result in adverse action, up to and including dismissal from State service. 1.Describe in detail your role, responsibility, and experience managing or providing oversight on an IT project (include length, budget, complexity, scope, methodology). Detail specific situations where your leadership influenced the course of the project or impacted the effort's overall success. 2.Describe your experience working with executives (including presenting information and leading negotiations with Sponsors, oversight organizations, business/program staff, and vendors) and how you were able to influence their decisions.Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- PMP Certification or other formal project management certification(s) is desired.
- Direct experience leading IT projects, either in a Project Manager/Director role or a key role on large projects.
- A very broad knowledge of principles of the State approval process for information technology projects, project management and information technology systems design.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, independence of action and originality, and must demonstrate tact and good independent judgment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in order to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate issues and concerns.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing priorities and maintain consistent, predictable attendance in the performance of these specific functions.
