Credentialed SPED Teacher (Spanish Bilingual) - Literacy & Math Intervention

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in La Quinta, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in La Quinta, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours per month, 2 sessions a week for 1.25 hrs per session
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Valid teaching credential required
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
• Strong special education (SPED) experience working with students with Autism and significant support needs
• Familiarity with ABA strategies, behavior intervention techniques, and positive reinforcement systems
• Experience supporting non-verbal learners and students functioning at early elementary academic levels
• Skilled in foundational literacy instruction, including early reading and language development
• Experience teaching foundational math concepts using hands-on and visual strategies
• Calm, patient, highly structured, and consistent in approach
• Comfortable working with severe behaviors, including eloping, self-injury, aggression, and work refusal
• Able to maintain engagement using preferred interests and sensory-friendly activities
• Comfortable conducting an academic assessment to guide instruction and behavioral planning

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct an initial assessment to determine current academic functioning and instructional priorities
• Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy and foundational math skills
• Support early reading development, number sense, counting, and basic math concepts through structured instruction
• Implement ABA-informed strategies, visual supports, and reinforcement systems to increase participation and reduce frustration
• Maintain a calm, highly structured learning environment with predictable routines and clear expectations
• Use step-by-step instruction, repetition, and scaffolded learning techniques
• Incorporate preferred interests such as tablets, weather apps, painting, and art activities to increase engagement
• Implement proactive behavior support strategies and respond appropriately during behavioral escalations
• Support communication development through visuals, modeling, and functional interaction opportunities
• Collaborate with caregivers and related service providers to support consistency across settings
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction and behavior supports as needed
