Rich Table is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Sous Chef with a deep understanding of California cuisine —a chef who is inspired by seasonality, product-driven cooking, and the philosophy:

Position OverviewThe Executive Sous Chef is a key leader in the kitchen, working closely with Chef Evan and the culinary team to bring our philosophy to life daily. This role is ideal for a chef who is deeply connected to seasonal sourcing, local purveyors, and ingredient-driven menus , and who thrives in an environment where creativity and execution go hand in hand.
What We’re Looking For- A chef with strong experience in California cuisine and a genuine passion for seasonal, market-driven cooking
- Someone who is comfortable building and adapting menus based on product availability and quality
- A leader who can balance refinement and restraint , letting ingredients shine without overcomplication
- A mentor who takes pride in developing a team and fostering a positive, professional kitchen culture
- A calm, confident presence during service with a sharp eye for detail
- Partner with the Chef team to execute and evolve a seasonally driven menu
- Lead daily kitchen operations with a focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency
- Work closely with local vendors and purveyors to source the best available ingredients
- Guide and develop kitchen staff, maintaining high standards and strong morale
- Oversee prep and service, ensuring dishes reflect our product-first philosophy
- Assist with ordering, inventory, and cost management
- Step into a leadership role on the line, setting the tone for execution and teamwork
- 3+ years in a senior sous or leadership role in a California cuisine or ingredient-driven kitchen
- Strong relationships with or understanding of local sourcing and seasonal product cycles
- Experience in a high-level restaurant environment (Michelin or equivalent preferred)
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Deep respect for ingredients, technique, and simplicity
