• Assignment Type: Travel/Locum Tenens Speech-Language Pathologist
• Start Date: July 24, 2025
• End Date: October 23, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250–$2310 per week

Speech-Language Pathologist Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Active California SLP license (temporary RPE license accepted if in process)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or geriatric/rehabilitation setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing, PDPM requirements, and California Title 22/CMS regulations
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

SLP Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations within 24 hours of physician referral
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based speech therapy interventions
• Provide direct therapy for communication and swallowing disorders, including cognitive-communication interventions and compensatory strategies
• Accurately document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and billing in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Educate patients, families, and staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (nurses, physicians, PT/OT, dietary, social work) to optimize patient outcomes and support discharge planning
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance for patient-centered care
• Supervise SLPAs or therapy aides as needed, ensuring compliance with California SLP supervision regulations
