The Logistics Directorate is responsible for a wide variety of Cal OES functions, including asset management, fleet administration, facilities management, warehousing, forms and records management, mail operations, copy service center, green programs, public safety communications, and emergency and disaster logistics. In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites. Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4 year university
- Experience designing and developing two-way Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.
- Experience with radio configuration, antenna and filter selection, RF propagation, FCC licensing and testing of RF systems.
- Experience with radio site facilities such as towers, vaults, AC and DC power distribution, and grounding.
- Strong oral and written communications skills to create and present design plans, project reports, technical presentations, and project logistics coordination.
- Ability to function effectively on independent assignments and also be an effective contributor on project teams.
