Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Los Angeles, CA. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a payroll professional with 3 to 5 years of experience who enjoys accuracy, confidentiality, and working as part of a collaborative HR and payroll team.

The Payroll Clerk will assist the Payroll Manager with weekly payroll processing for approximately 1,000 employees using ADP. This role offers a supportive, team-oriented environment, steady weekday schedule, hybrid flexibility, provided parking, and the opportunity to contribute to an organization with a strong community-focused mission. Key Responsibilities

- Assist with accurate and timely weekly payroll processing through ADP for a high-volume employee population.
- Review employee timecards, earnings, deductions, adjustments, and payroll data for accuracy.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee payroll questions, and data entry issues.
- Maintain confidential payroll records and support compliance with internal procedures and applicable requirements.
- Assist with payroll audits, reporting, documentation, filing, and related administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Manager, HR, and other departments to ensure accurate payroll processing.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $56,000 to $62,400 per year.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM.
- Work arrangement: Hybrid, with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. Final schedule to be determined during the interview process.
- Location: Los Angeles, CA 90013.
- Parking: Provided.
- Start date: ASAP.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support weekly payroll processing for approximately 1,000 employees.
- Verify payroll data, timecards, earnings, deductions, and adjustments.
- Research payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and documentation.

- 3 to 5 years of payroll experience preferred based on the level of the role.
- Previous hands-on payroll processing experience is required.
- Experience using ADP for payroll processing is strongly desired.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.
- Excellent communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume payroll environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on ADP payroll experience.
- Experience processing payroll for a large employee population.
- Background supporting payroll within a nonprofit, business services, HR, or administrative environment.
- Experience assisting with payroll audits, reporting, and compliance-related recordkeeping.
