Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and executes all aspects of the design process and project complexities, contributing to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project standards of excellence in design, execution, and Living Design.
- Assists in managing project teams, fosters collaboration, and demonstrates strong communication and leadership to inspire high team performance, innovative design ideas, and successful project delivery.
- Supports the development, validation, and negotiation of project scope, fees, budgets, and scope of services during marketing and contract phases.
- Supports marketing efforts and begins developing positive client experiences.
- Meets with public officials and community members regarding development plans.
- Participates in educating civic leaders and the public about project details.
- Interprets data and research gathered for projects.
- Analyzes sites, programs, and key project elements through quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Develops analytical and design drawings using sketching, physical modeling, digital analysis, and modeling tools.
- Collaborates with clients and the public to create strategic planning options.
- Prepares design documentation, maps, diagrams, master plans, design guidelines, and presentation materials.
- Coordinates all project deliverables.
- Reviews and integrates zoning and policy requirements into designs.
- Develops strategies for urban frameworks and systems such as circulation, open space, and infrastructure.
- Performs advanced development calculations according to standards and controls.
- Leads client discussions and project presentations.
- Participates in public discussions and presentations related to projects.
- Monitors project team performance to ensure quality and design standards are met.
- Uses creative judgment throughout the design process.
- Engages in team activities like design charettes, reviews, and collaborations.
- Maintains open communication within the team and with leadership.
- Communicates ideas effectively to inspire others.
- Coordinates with design partners and consultants.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in urban design, landscape, architecture, or related field required.
- AICP certification required.
- LEED GA certification within 6 months of hire.
- Professional accreditation in a Living Design area (e.g., LEED AP, BREEAM, WELL, SITES, Passive House, ILFI Living Future) within 1 year of hire.

At Perkins & Will, we foster a diverse and inclusive culture and strive for fair pay practices. Our salary range for this position is $97,000-$129,200, depending on qualifications.
