Fullstack Software Engineer, Demands Product Engineering

Evenup
San Francisco, CA

EvenUp is on a mission to support injury law firms across America in providing a consistent and high standard of representation, ensuring that every injury victim who seeks legal assistance can expect a fair resolution. We’ve helped thousands of victims get fair compensation by empowering their representation with best-in-class insights, automation, and document creation.

Demands is EvenUp’s flagship product responsible for propelling EvenUp to become one of the most successful vertical AI companies in the world. As a Fullstack Software Engineer on EvenUp’s Demands Product Engineering Team, you’ll work closely with our AI, Legal, and GTM teams to scope and implement solutions that increase the speed, velocity, and quality of the products that deliver value to our customers. We are looking for individuals who have worked across the stack on incredible user-centric products and who are passionate about building the future of generative AI products. As part of our team, you'll drive future innovations that will significantly impact the business in support of EvenUp’s mission to ensure that personal injury victims receive the rightful compensation they deserve.

Initiatives could include but are not limited to:

  • Enhancing the capabilities of EvenUp’s AI-native and human-in-the-loop workflows

  • Implementing and integrating LLM-based solutions that immediately improve outcomes for our customers

  • Developing the systems to evaluate the efficacy and quality of key customer deliverables

  • Contributing to the evolution of EvenUp’s flagship Demands product at the bleeding edge of the present-day AI revolution

In doing so, you’ll supercharge the engine that powers EvenUp, collaborating with leaders across the company to execute on mission-critical opportunities. You’ll uphold the high-quality bar on our team, and directly impact EvenUp’s success by applying data-driven insights alongside our foundational commitment to crafting exceptional customer-driven experiences.

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week spent collaborating with the team in the office. We are open to applicants located in either the San Francisco Bay Area or the Greater Toronto Area.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to end-to-end AI workflows by integrating traditional SaaS with AI applications, and rapidly prototyping zero-to-one features for customer needs, all while balancing innovation with pragmatism.

  • Collaborate with our founders, product managers, and designers to brainstorm, scope, and realize new features.

  • Establish best practices for architecture, coding, and delivery while scoping, leading, and building user-facing experiences, services, APIs, and systems.

  • Deliver secure, compliant code for sensitive data, ensuring quality through testing, reviews, and standards adherence while monitoring, debugging, and optimizing performance across the stack.

  • Mentor team members by providing feedback on code and design, while actively contributing to team culture, retrospectives, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Handle on-call responsibilities to resolve issues and reduce toil, while documenting processes to ensure alignment with company and industry standards.

What we look for:

  • Extensive experience in building frameworks, libraries, and distributed systems with an eye for reliability, observability, and performance.

  • Proven proficiency in software development, with hands-on experience in Python or other programming languages such as Go, Java, Node.js or C++.

  • An understanding of modern frontend technologies, particularly TypeScript, React, JavaScript, CSS, and the DOM, with 3+ years of frontend development experience.

  • Ability to craft and deliver high-quality software solutions, including production-ready code, RESTful APIs, and managing infrastructure to industry standards.

  • Track record of successfully delivering complex projects with clear, structured thinking and leadership from concept to deployment.

  • Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, such as startups, thriving in collaborative, growth-oriented settings.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong ownership and personal accountability which are driven by your problem-solving skills, creativity, and initiative in driving projects to completion.

  • Bonus: Experience in AI, legal tech, or social impact projects.
