Commercial Generalist

The Position

An advanced manufacturing company is seeking a senior commercial generalist attorney to provide hands‑on legal support during a period of expansion. This role will support a broad range of corporate matters, including reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and government‑facing, defense‑adjacent contracts tied to federally regulated programs. Responsibilities also include supporting HR and company policy updates across new jurisdictions and assisting with share conversion work following a transition from public to private ownership.

Candidates must have experience working with government contracts or defense‑adjacent agreements, ideally within mechanical engineering, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing industries or environments. Strong California law experience is also required. The ideal candidate thrives in lean environments, is highly responsive, comfortable giving and receiving direct feedback, and willing to roll up their sleeves. Prior experience at a startup or supporting a growth‑stage company is ideal.

This project starts ASAP, fully remote, 10-15 hours per week, for an estimated 3‑6 month duration. The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $107 and $118. This range is an estimate; the employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skill set, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
