Job Description and Duties

The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Analyst II with experience working in an outreach environment, develop and coordinate outreach workplans for the unit. Strong communication skills will be an asset.

Under direction of the Southern California Supervisor II in the Community Relations and Outreach Branch, the Analyst II independently has responsibility to develop, coordinate and implement outreach workplans; develops collateral materials and processes of outreach functions in the field; assists the Manager of Community Relations and Outreach Southern California, Department of Insurance (CDI) and stakeholders in consumer outreach work including the development and implementation of outreach documents; participates and leads program activities at meetings and events; performs various duties within the office in preparation for outreach assignments; and maintain logs and records of event activities performed.

Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 and related Pay Differential 386. PLP 2025 requires employees to receive a reduction in pay in exchange for monthly hours of PLP 2025 leave credits. Working Conditions

  • Work in a high-rise office building and out in the field, including outdoor events and facilities.
  • Eligible for telework in accordance with CDIs telework policy. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.
  • Fast-Paced Work Environment that may interact with Legislature, consumer group representatives and consumers. Overtime may be required.
  • Travel may include overnight stays. Ability to lift 25 lbs. routinely during travel.

  • Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
