Sr. SW Test Engineer

Visa Direct team is looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer, who is versatile, curious, and energetic and embraces solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Test Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
Essential Functions:
- Sr SW Test Engineer will design and implement test solutions with highest quality using agile tools & methodologies.
- Extensive hands-on QA, white box testing and automation. No Manual testing
- Support continuous integration processes and system deployments
- Write test plans and test cases
- Troubleshoot critical defects in software coding
- Should possess the programing skills to drive test automation
- You have expertise in field of test automation and have driven efforts for implementing test frameworks on web, mobile platform or service oriented architectures
- Work closely with the QE/Developers/Product leads to achieve a high level of Unit & Test coverage
- Plan and conduct User Acceptance Testing with key stakeholders.
- Should have an understanding of the Developer world, be able to voice customer perspective.
- Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in working with agile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g. Rally, JIRA
- Educational background in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent is highly desirable. MBA a plus
- The ideal candidate for this position will have more than 5+ years of experience in testing highly distributed and complex systems, with an ability to think tactically as well as strategically while leading cross functional teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- A background working in a high transaction online payment environment, developer portals/services or APIs is highly desirable
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Prior QA experience.
Experience in testing highly distributed and complex systems.
Hands-on Java programming, Automation Scripting, testing experience in JAVA & TestNG.
Experience with Selenium or similar software testing framework.
Experience testing software at API level using SOA suite, SOAP UI, PostMan, REST Client etc.
Experience in executing automated tests for REST based services.
QA Experience in Payment domain is a plus.
Experience with Agile Methodologies, Tools (Rally, JIRA, Confluence).
Hands-on experience working with databases Oracle, MySQL & MongoDB.
Familiarity with mobile testing concept and tools.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins/Bamboo.
Familiarity with Code Quality Governance related tools.
Hands-on experience with Eclipse or any other IDE development tools.
Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git.
Experience with Gen AI.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $109,700 to $170,200 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
