Job Summary
A growing professional services organization in Irvine, CA is seeking a hands-on Controller/Accounting Manager for a direct hire opportunity. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of accounting operations, strengthen financial processes, and support long-term business growth. The Controller will work closely with leadership in a stable, respected professional services environment that values accuracy, collaboration, process improvement, and forward-thinking financial management. Key Responsibilities - Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and accounting team performance.- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
- Develop, improve, and maintain accounting processes, internal controls, systems, and reporting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and technology to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Partner with leadership on financial analysis, business planning, and strategic decision-making. Compensation and Benefits - Salary: $125,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and close processes for a professional services organization.- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
- Supervise and develop accounting staff while improving department processes and controls.
- Support technology, AI, and automation initiatives to improve accounting efficiency. - 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar accounting leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close.
- Proven experience managing accounting staff and leading accounting operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Technologically savvy with interest in AI, automation, process improvement, and accounting systems. Preferred Qualifications - CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience in a professional services or legal services environment is a plus.
- Experience improving accounting systems, workflows, internal controls, or reporting processes is preferred.
