Project Manager, Steel Manufacturing
Job Description
Job Description
We are a fast-moving commercial racking and material handling contractor operating across Southern California, Texas, Nevada, and Mexico. We are seeking a Project Manager for Steel Manufacturing who can own projects from estimate through closeout — ensuring they remain on budget, on schedule, and meet the quality standards expected by our clients. This field-facing role reports directly to the Construction Director, involves frequent travel between sites, and manages multiple teams. The successful candidate will have a clear path to becoming Head of Project Management within six months by demonstrating independence, strong client management, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop accurate estimates from scope, drawings, and site walkthroughs
- Build and actively manage project budgets, tracking committed costs and flagging variances early
- Create detailed project schedules and hold teams accountable to timelines
- Coordinate labor, subcontractors, and material deliveries to minimize downtime
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across various sites and geographies
- Conduct site inspections to enforce quality standards and ensure OSHA compliance
- Serve as the primary client contact with proactive communication throughout project lifecycle
- Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure adherence to schedule and scope
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on project management experience in material handling
- Proven ability to develop estimates and manage budgets effectively
- Strong skills in project scheduling and vendor management
- Experience maintaining client relationships and managing site operations independently
- Thorough understanding of OSHA compliance and job site safety protocols
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
