Investment Banking and M&A Professional for AI Model Evaluation
Help improve how frontier AI models handle real-world financial work. In this senior finance role, you will work closely with AI research and program management teams to turn professional financial judgment into high-quality tasks, model instructions, reference solutions, and benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities- Review finance knowledge-work tasks and model outputs, identifying missing behaviors, weak reasoning, flawed assumptions, and responses that would not meet professional standards.
- Write instruction specifications and gold-standard solutions for financial problems.
- Create finance tasks, challenging evaluation sets, and benchmarks that reflect real practice and measure model improvement.
- Partner with researchers and adjacent-domain specialists to build finance-specific skills and tools and maintain consistent quality standards.
- Translate tacit financial judgment into clear, teachable evaluation criteria.
- At least 5 years of dedicated professional finance experience at a recognized institution, such as an investment bank, asset manager, private equity or credit fund, Big Four firm, large corporate finance function, or financial regulator. Generalist roles with only peripheral finance exposure do not qualify.
- Specialization in at least one core discipline, including corporate finance and FP&A, investment banking and M&A, asset or wealth management, private equity or private credit, quantitative finance and risk management, treasury, or accounting and audit.
- Demonstrated progression to a senior individual-contributor or leadership role, such as Vice President, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, or CFO, with ownership of analysis and decisions.
- Hands-on professional use of large language models and the ability to distinguish sound reasoning from plausible but incorrect answers.
- Excellent written communication and the ability to provide precise, well-structured feedback.
- An MBA, MS, or PhD in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field, and/or credentials such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or an actuarial designation, strongly preferred.
- Full-time W-2 position with a 40-hour weekly commitment for an initial 6-month engagement.
- Hybrid role based in the Bay Area, California, with on-site work alongside the client team multiple days each week when required.
- This is not a remote position. Applicants must already live in the Bay Area or relocate there at their own expense before the engagement begins. Relocation assistance is not available.
- Client-issued accounts and equipment will be provided, and the work will be performed in the client’s tools and enterprise workflows.
- This is a structured, role-based position, not a freelance or project-based engagement.
$100 to $150 per hour.
