Job Description and Duties

If this is a limited term position, it may be extended up to 24 months and/or become permanent.

Under the direction of the Executive Officer (EO), general direction of the Assistant Executive Officer (AEO) and the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) is responsible and performs with independence the duties regarding complex evaluations, outreach coordination and training development in the Licensing Unit.

Working Conditions

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

The incumbent works in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a personal computer is essential.

Special Requirements

Criminal Offender Record Information: Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program materials at all times.

Conflict of Interest: This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

The incumbent must possess good communication skills, use good judgment in decision-making, exercise creativity and flexibility in problem identification and resolution, manage time and resources effectively, and be responsive to Board management needs. The incumbent must also use strong interpersonal skills to support the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Executive Officer and the Board and maintain good working relationships with staff and management.

Statement of Qualifications

Include the title Statement of Qualifications, your name, and the JC number in bold font style, center-aligned at the top of each page. Please list each question on a separate page, followed by your response.

1) Describe your experience with establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative relationships with co-workers, employees, and the public.

2) How do you demonstrate attention to detail when entering and reviewing application data? Include the steps you utilize to ensure accuracy and an example of its impact on application review.
