Real Estate Loan Processor (Temporary)

GENERAL PURPOSE
ILWU Credit Union is searching for a Temporary Real Estate Loan Processor to fill a role during a leave of absence . This role is an on-site position located in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, CA. You will be responsible for working an entire real estate loan cycle from origination through funding. During this period, the Processor coordinates all applicable residential loan documentation to complete the loan transaction in accordance with ILWU Credit Union policies and procedures, government regulations and, if applicable, secondary market investor guidelines. The hourly rate for the position is $34.76 . The work hours are M-F 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m . To be considered, candidates must have:
- Current registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System Registry (please include your NMLS# on your resume to confirm).
- Current working experience (within last 5 years) as a mortgage loan originator and processor.
- Proficiency in Mortgagebot LOS or equivalent loan origination software.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist members with real estate loan inquiries and applications.
- Discuss real estate products with members looking to purchase, refinance or obtain a second mortgage (HELOC or fixed second).
- Interview applicants and originate loans within current regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with borrowers, loan officers/underwriters, realtors, service vendors (title companies, appraisers, private mortgage insurance companies, etc.), or insurance companies to gather and prepare all documents needed to satisfy underwriting requirements and to ensure a smooth transaction.
- Validate member documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Obtain & review credit reports, title reports, appraisals, mortgage payoffs, verifications of employment/deposit/mortgage, etc., as needed.
- Monitor the mortgage process to ensure adherence to all company and regulatory processes.
- Manage multiple loan pipelines and perform all duties necessary to complete the processing of real estate loan applications efficiently while maintaining high levels of member service.
- Troubleshoot title issues, including vesting concerns, liens, and judgements.
- Submit loans for underwriting, clear conditions, and prepare all loan documents for closing.
- Close and disburse loans. Process export of Real Estate loans from the loan origination system.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires current registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System Registry (Please include your NMLS# on your resume to confirm)
- Requires an equivalent of a high school level of language, math and reasoning skills, and four years real estate loan origination and processing or underwriting experience in a financial institution.
- Requires current working experience (within last 5 years) as a mortgage loan originator and processor.
- Requires proficiency in Mortgagebot LOS or equivalent loan origination software.
- Strong understanding of company loan policies and guidelines, as well as all federal and state laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of multiple types of loans such as conventional, fixed/ adjustable, non-conforming, FNMA and FHLMC, and Home Equity Lines of Credit.
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and loan originating software such as Mortgagebot LOS and Symitar preferred.
- Working knowledge of credit fundamentals, real estate products, policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Internet, and 10-key

Work Environment Most work is performed in an air-conditioned and heated office environment with exposure to basic office equipment and typical moderate office noise.
