Senior Tax Accountant

We are looking for a knowledgeable Senior Tax Accountant to join our finance team in Rancho Cordova, CA . This full-time position is ideal for a tax professional with strong expertise in compliance, reporting, and strategic tax planning. The Senior Tax Accountant will handle complex tax projects, ensure accurate filings, and collaborate with teams throughout Rancho Cordova and the greater California region. Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate and partnership clients in Rancho Cordova .
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all tax reporting requirements.
• Support tax planning initiatives to minimize liabilities and enhance tax positions for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate responses to audits and tax notices from federal, state, and local agencies.
• Develop detailed tax provisions and schedules in accordance with GAAP.
• Collaborate with accounting, legal, and finance teams on matters impacting Rancho Cordova operations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior tax staff on technical and procedural issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and industry developments affecting Rancho Cordova and California markets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably in public accounting or corporate tax.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficient with tax software and MS Excel; familiarity with major accounting systems is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
