Onestop Medical Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit primary care clinic in Pleasanton, CA serving adult and older adult patients in the Tri-Valley region, including a large Medi-Cal and commercial insurance patient population. As a nonprofit affiliated with multiple accredited universities and colleges through formal Educational Affiliation Agreements, our physicians also serve as clinical preceptors for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students and supervising physicians for Medical Assistant (MA) students — making a direct impact on healthcare workforce training in our community.
The Role
We are seeking a board-certified Primary Care Physician in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to join our outpatient clinic. This is a dual-function role combining direct patient care with clinical education and student supervision.

Clinical Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to adult and older adult patients (ages 18+)
- Conduct physical exams, take medical histories, and perform preventive health assessments
- Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
- Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, COPD, cardiovascular disease, and mental health comorbidities
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and monitor patient progress
- Prescribe medications and conduct medication reconciliation
- Coordinate care with specialists and allied health professionals as needed
- Provide patient education on prevention, chronic disease management, and lifestyle modification
- Serve Medi-Cal beneficiaries and uninsured patients in compliance with our sliding-fee scale
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR system in compliance with HIPAA
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care meetings
Clinical Education and Student Supervision:
- Serve as supervising clinical preceptor for FNP students completing practicum rotations at Onestop Medical Center
- Supervise FNP students during patient encounters, providing real-time instruction, feedback, and formal evaluation of clinical competencies.
- Supervise and train Medical Assistant (MA) students in clinical support tasks, including patient intake, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, EKG, and EMR documentation, in compliance with California Medical Board regulations and Business and Professions Code §2069
- Model evidence-based practice and professional conduct
- Coordinate with university and college clinical program directors as required under affiliation agreements
- Ensure all student rotations comply with HIPAA, patient safety standards, and clinic policies
Note: The student preceptor and supervision role is an essential function of this position, not optional. Candidates must be willing and able to fulfill this duty.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school (minimum required degree for this specialty occupation — no equivalent substitution accepted)
- Active, unrestricted California medical license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine by ABIM, ABFM, AOBIM, or AOBFM
- ECFMG certificate (required for international medical graduates)
- Passage of USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3 (required for international medical graduates)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinical experience in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine within the past 3 years preferred
- Comfortable caring for a diverse adult patient population, including Medi-Cal beneficiaries
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Willingness to supervise FNP and Medical Assistant students as an essential job function

Outpatient-only, in-person. Candidates must be able to relocate to or commute to Pleasanton, CA before the start date. Pleasanton is located in the East Bay — 30 minutes from San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley.
