Program Dates: February 2, 2026 – March 31, 2026
Schedule: Thursdays, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Grade Levels: 1st – 6th Grade

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cooking Instructor to lead a fun, hands-on after-school cooking program for elementary school students. The instructor will introduce basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, nutrition awareness, and simple recipes in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and has a passion for cooking and teaching life skills in a positive, structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly 2-hour cooking classes for students in grades 1–6
• Teach basic cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen etiquette
• Prepare lesson plans and age-appropriate recipes
• Supervise students and maintain a safe, clean learning environment
• Manage classroom behavior and encourage teamwork and creativity
• Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators
• Clean and organize materials and workspace after each session

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, etc.)
• Basic cooking or culinary knowledge
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to pass a background check (if required by the school)
• Teaching or culinary certification is a plus, but not required
