On-site Event Bartender
Always Fishing Hospitality Group is looking for professional, high-energy bartenders with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages. You will also utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.
To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
On-Site Bartender Duties and Responsibilities:
- Being punctual, professional, and properly dressed in company-specified uniform.
- Check-in with the on-site manager for task assignments ( Clock in via Nowsta upon arrival).
- Unload company vehicles in an organized manner taking direction from Head Chef and/or Service Manager.
- Perform set-up duties including but not limited to setting up the bar, icing beverages, preparing garnishes, polishing glasses, and batching cocktails.
- Attend a pre-event meeting to review the menu and dietary constraints of menu items.
- Serve beverages as well as replenish bars and beverages as needed throughout the event.
- Greet guests as needed.
- Maintain inventory, supplies, and cleanliness of bar and equipment.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, glassware, and garnishes.
- Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment at all times, following all Safety and Health Department guidelines.
- Break down the bar at the end of service ensuring all service items are put away property (clean, dirty, or rental bins).
- All alcohol products must be counted at the start and end of the event and noted on the bar tally sheet. All empties kept except beer and NA’s
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register. ( as needed)
- Buss plates, glassware, and other service items as necessary.
- Perform breakdown duties including but not limited to breakdown tables, bars, kitchen, clearing all glasses, dishes, and food, stack rentals together for pick up, emptying trash, sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Load company vehicles at the conclusion of the event in an organized manner taking direction from the Head Chef and or Service Manager.
On-Site Bartender Qualifications:
- Must have flexible schedule including availability on days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Our base location is in Oakland, Ca BUT you will be working at various locations depending on the shifts you accept.
- Previous experience as a Bartender.
- The desire to grow within the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Knowledge of fine wines, beer, and liquor.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Alcohol awareness certification (TIPS Training) is required.
- Food Handlers Certification, ServSafe Certified is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal.
- Conversational abilities in other languages are helpful.
