OverviewThis is a remote position based in California, and candidates must reside within the state.

At Gallagher, we’re united by a commitment to excellence and innovation. As a Claims Examiner, you’ll take ownership of indemnity claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. You’ll use your strong customer service skills to interact with clients and your expertise in lien resolution to handle routine claims without legal representation. From managing diaries to negotiating settlements, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining our high standards of service and efficiency.
How you'll make an impact- Maintain accurate claim diaries and update notes in IVOS.
- Identify, prevent, and mitigate potential penalties.
- Report excess files, SIU/Fraud cases, and subrogation opportunities.
- Prepare and attend file reviews, ensuring timely claim resolutions.
- Negotiate settlements, oversee legal referrals, and manage defense attorneys.
- Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and update reserves as needed.
- Maintain a 100% closing ratio on active accounts and reduce runoff accounts by 25% annually.
- Provide exceptional client and claimant satisfaction through timely communication and resolution.
Required: High school diploma and 3 years related claims experience required. Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled or able to obtain the licenses/certification per local requirements. Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices. Computer experience with related claims and business software.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Behaviors: Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve clients, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing and embrace new challenges. Analytical skill necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in handling of claims. Ability to successfully negotiate the settlement and disposition of claims including the ability to interpret related documentation.Compensation and benefits

The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
