Supervisor I, HAVA Financial and Policy Unit Supervisor
Job Description and Duties
The Secretary of State’s Office, Office of Voting Systems Technology Assessment (OVSTA), is pleased to announce the opportunity for qualified applicants to apply for a Supervisor I position to organize and direct the division’s analytical and administrative functions of the Financial and Policy Unit.
Under the overall direction of the Deputy Secretary of State, Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Director, the Supervisor I organizes and directs the work of staff in the program areas of the OVSTA Legislative Analysis, Regulation Package Coordination, Oversight of HAVA Funding, and overall unit budgets. The incumbent is an integral part of a collaborative management team and is expected to contribute in a meaningful way to the operations of the division. In addition to a working knowledge of standard administrative policies and procedures, the incumbent must acquire an in-depth knowledge of the various statutes, regulations, and policy directives that govern the program and projects within their purview.

• Demonstrates good judgement and ability analyze problems, develop and make recommendations accordingly
• Ability to present information and express ideas in a positive, clear, concise, and convincing manner
• Experience in state and federal budget process is highly desirable.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently with excellent follow-through on tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills when working within a team, with the public and with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in workplace performance, attendance matters and resource management.
• Experience in the analysis and implementation of new laws and regulations.

Working Conditions
This position provides a telework opportunity based upon the agency’s telework policy and business needs, typically after completing up to six (6) months of on-site training.
