VP of Branch Operations
Work hours will depend on the business hours of the time zone serviced. Saturday hours required seasonally and as business needs require.

In This Role, You Will: Be responsible for the overall administration and coordination of all branch activities for an assigned group of districts within a designated region. Develop, review, and recommend objectives, policies, and procedures to meet strategic goals and objectives. Maintain a smooth running and profitable operation while ensuring compliance to both company policy and governing laws. Have significant impact on your team and beyond, using expertise industry knowledge, instilled Mariner values, and influential leadership skills to drive business results, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. Responsibilities and Essential Duties:- Evaluate the effectiveness of the assigned branch office system and individual branches by directing reviews of branch activity and analyzing activity statistics and related reports along with recommendations from Senior Vice Presidents, Chief Operating Officer, and President.
- Responsible for income and expense goal setting and end results, consistent with the company’s business plan.
- Provide guidance, supervise, train, and evaluate Branch Managers and District Managers/AVPs. Assist Branch Managers and District Managers/AVPs in meeting/reaching sales, growth, profitability goals.
- Develop effective, proactive branch strategies to respond to the challenging legal and economic environments.
- Represent the organization in various civic and community functions to further enhance its image and develop additional business.
- Arrange and coordinate regular staff meetings with District and Branch Managers as needed to provide effective communications and support to subordinate personnel.
- Ensure handling of customer service issues with customers. Monitor that the highest level of service is maintained for all customers.
- Liaise with attorneys, regulators and auditors as required for reviews and audits.
- Develop and monitor various department budgets. Review and approve budget amendments. Validate and document all personnel actions and compensation plans within delegated authority.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations throughout the branch system.
- Complete semi-annual Branch Operational Review of all assigned branches to audit customer service, business development, loan and sales credit transactions, insurance product knowledge and sales, delinquency and collections, cash handling procedures, and branch security.
- Work with senior leadership to establish and implement change management projects.
- As a subject matter expert, lead trainings in best practices and company policy changes.
- Interpret and relay critical information such as policy or regulatory changes to branch operations.
- Drive positive, effective, and productive initiatives that have impact beyond branch operations.
- Consistently display and encourage behaviors and results consistent with Mariner Finance values such as carrying out Mariner’s mission statement or Customer Obsession (GLAD).
- Participate and actively engage in company meetings and professional development activities to keep abreast of current trends and changing environment to enhance competency.
- May perform additional functions depending on market demand and branch staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service. Other functions include but are not limited to: collecting payments, completing and processing loan applications, contacting customers for late payments, cashiering, answering phones, photocopying, filing, etc.
- Minimum of nine (9) years of related experience in the Consumer Lending and/or Financial Services industry with increasing responsibility in decision-making responsibility.
- Six (6) years of demonstrated successful managerial experience and demonstrated ability in establishing and controlling complex budgets, coordinating multiple responsibilities, delegating daily management of operations activities, and planning for further activities to principal direct reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Business, Accounting, Finance, Administration, Economics; or military rank (e.g., E-4, W1, or O1 and above). Additional, applicable years of experience may be substituted for degree.
- Reliable transportation required with ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Demonstrated managerial experience in setting work priorities for, developing, mentoring, and appraising employee’s work performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with vendors, service dealers, customers, and all levels of company personnel.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and financial services programs.
- Ability to influence and lead strategy of lending and collections practices at company level.
- Demonstrated impact of initiatives above and beyond branch operations.
- Prior dedication and success in developing, coaching, and mentoring team members and leaders to grow within an organization.
- Must obtain applicable, required licenses to sell insurance products offered to customers by branch.
- Must perform work related tasks at the assigned branch location except in the event of an emergency as determined by the company in consultation, as necessary, with applicable regulatory agencies.
- Experience as District Manager/AVP for Mariner Finance, LLC or any affiliate or subsidiary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; operate computer and phone systems; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee is required to be physically present in the office. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
