Job Description

TeamBuilders is actively hiring for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a fantastic CPA firm in the Fresno, CA area.

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for handling financial records, payroll and tax preparation for individuals and small businesses. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized professional with strong accounting skills, a solid understanding of payroll systems, and experience in preparing tax returns for individuals and/or businesses.

The Bookkeeper position is being offered on a full-time, onsite basis, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and the company offers an excellent work environment, benefits and paid time off. The pay range for the Bookkeeper is $25.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Essential Daily Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper to Include:

• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software including QuickBooks
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger entries
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Payroll

• Process payroll for employees on a regular schedule
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Manage employee benefits deductions and tax withholdings
• Prepare and file payroll tax reports (e.g., 941, 940, W-2, W-3)
• Maintain payroll records and respond to employee inquiries

Tax Preparation

• Prepare and file federal and state income tax returns for individuals and/or small businesses
• Organize and analyze financial data to ensure accurate tax filings
• Stay current on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
• Assist clients with tax planning and strategies to minimize liabilities
• Respond to tax notices and assist with audits when necessary

Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications of the Bookkeeper:

• 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation preferably
• Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks
• Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus
• Experience working with small businesses or in a public accounting firm
• Strong communication skills for client interaction
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms
