Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II serves as a master level technical specialist within the Administrative Division and performs duties primarily in the System Engineering, Information Security Engineering, and Information Technology Project Management domains. The incumbent independently performs advanced technical analysis, system and platform administration, security architecture, infrastructure planning, incident response, recovery planning, vendor coordination, and implementation support for PERB’s mission critical technology environment. The position serves as a senior technical lead and escalation resource for complex IT issues, including after-hours response to critical incidents, outages, cybersecurity events, or recovery activities as operationally required and in accordance with applicable departmental policies, labor provisions, and compensation rules.
