Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Contract Opening: Director of Pharmacy
Location: Ridgecrest, California
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM
Assignment: Immediate start through end of year

An established hospital in Ridgecrest is in urgent need of a Director of Pharmacy to provide operational leadership and oversight. This is a temporary, full-time role focused on administration no dispensing, no staffing, no PIC duties.

Position Summary:

This role is strictly non-clinical. The Director will manage compliance, policy implementation, and workflow optimization for the inpatient pharmacy, while working alongside an experienced team.

Key Points:

• Regular weekday hours only (no weekends or on-call)

• No direct patient care, compounding, or chemotherapy services involved

• This is a fill-in leadership role during a critical transition period

Facility Snapshot:

• Pharmacy open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM

• Remote order entry covered by Pipeline after-hours

• Team includes 56 pharmacists, 67 technicians, and PRN backup

• Strong 340B program in place (managed by a separate, dedicated team)

Technology & Tools:

• Order Entry System: Paragon / Allscripts

• Automation: Pyxis

• 340B experience is important, though the role is not responsible for program management

Required Background:

• Active California Pharmacist License

• Proven leadership experience as a hospital Director of Pharmacy

• Strong understanding of:

  • Regulatory/compliance programs

  • Policy and procedures (including crosswalks)

  • Bluesight , MERP, ASP, P&T Committee involvement

  • Pharmacy Chargemaster and audit preparation
