Flight Test Instrumentation Tech (San Jose)
TRCTalent seeks a Flight Test Instrumentation Tech for a rapidly growing air taxi manufacturer in San Jose. These techs will be supporting a growing team supporting flight test operations. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on aircraft experience—especially those skilled in installing test sensors, strain gages, and wiring harnesses for flight test instrumentation systems.
While prior FTI experience is preferred, it’s not required. We’re willing to train highly motivated technicians who bring a strong foundation in aircraft systems, wiring, or circuit board work and a commitment to precision and safety.

What You’ll Do

• Perform sensor installation (strain gages, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, etc.).
• Fabricate and install orange wiring harnesses and other test-specific cabling.
• Support pre- and post-flight instrumentation checks and data validation.
• Work directly with engineering teams to interpret drawings, resolve issues, and communicate real-time feedback.
• Participate in aircraft troubleshooting and flight test support activities.
• Assist in building test setups and instrumentation assemblies in the facility prior to aircraft installation.
• Ensure all work meets high standards of safety, quality, and documentation accuracy.

• Strong soldering and circuit board skills (experience with strain gage installation a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills—must be comfortable working side-by-side with engineers on live aircraft.
• High level of attention to detail, safety awareness, and initiative.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes during aircraft build and test phases.
