Job Description and Duties
PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I/ANGELES DISTRICT/MALIBU SECTOR/POINT MUGU STATE PARK
This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is Point Mugu State Park, and may be required to work a variety of park locations and units. This position will work under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief III. This position will assist in the purchasing, planning, estimating, project assignments. This position will utilize all basic maintenance skills on projects and assignments within the park units. A positive attitude, and team work is essential. This position may lead a crew of maintenance staff that include Seasonal and PMA's.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCRThe incumbent’s work schedule will be Tuesday - Saturday from 7:00 to 3:30 pm.

Working Conditions
Typical work activities involve frequent periods of bending, stooping and lifting. Perform indoor and outdoor work often in inclement weather. May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. May work in remote locations.
