This position is located in the city of Albany

Located in Albany, the Orientation Center for the Blind (OCB) is a Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) owned and operated residential immersion training facility that helps individuals with visual impairments adjust to blindness and prepare for competitive integrated employment. The center is close to public transportation and offers free parking on site.

Under direction of the OCB Administrator, Staff Services Manager III (SSM III), the OCB Assistant Administrator Programs/Services, Staff Services Manager II (SSMII), is responsible for providing leadership and administrative support, supporting staff development and personnel actions; completing complex analytic functions to develop and recommend policies and practices governing the OCB administrative and program/services; managing and supervising staff in the areas of instructional, counseling and health care services; addressing participant concerns in support of adjustment to blindness, the development of socially acceptable attitudes and interests, and the preparation of participants to achieve independence and gainful employment. In the absence of the Administrator, serves as the OCB Administrator.

Telework: Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent must live and work in California. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time.
