Intellectual Property Attorney

Round Hill Search seeks a highly skilled and motivated Intellectual Property Attorney for an international law firm’s Los Angeles office. As an Intellectual Property Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation in matters related to intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Your role will involve advising clients on IP strategies, handling IP litigation, and ensuring compliance with IP laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intellectual property law, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement intellectual property strategies to protect and maximize the value of clients' IP assets.
• Provide legal guidance on various intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Oversee and manage IP litigation cases, representing clients in court appearances, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Conduct IP due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and transactions, assessing the value and risks of intellectual property portfolios.
• Assist in prosecuting and registering trademarks and patents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Draft and review intellectual property agreements, including licensing agreements, technology transfer agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
• Take proactive measures to enforce and protect clients' intellectual property rights, including sending cease and desist letters and pursuing legal actions when necessary.
• Conduct intellectual property audits to assess compliance and identify opportunities for IP protection.
• Interact with clients to understand their business goals and intellectual property needs, providing strategic legal advice.
• Provide legal support for technology transactions, collaborations, and intellectual property partnerships.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, inventors, and external counsel to address intellectual property issues comprehensively.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in California.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is preferred.
• Three (3) to six (6) years of experience as an attorney specializing in intellectual property and/or patent litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle intellectual property litigation cases, from pre-litigation through trial.
• Experience in trademark and patent prosecution is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective representation and client communication.
• Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
• Collaborative mindset with effective teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving intellectual property laws and industry dynamics.

Salary:

$250,000 - $370,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications
