Senior Emergency Services Coordinator, Office of Emergency Services
Job Description and Duties

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Section (EPRS) provides leadership for prevention, mitigation, preparedness and response for all emergencies that fall under the jurisdiction of the Animal Health and Food Safety Services (AHFSS) division.
The EPRS is advertising to fill an Sr Emergency Services Coordinator position within Sacramento.
Under general direction from the EPRS Foreign Animal Disease (FAD) Program Manager II, the Senior Emergency Services Coordinator (SESC) will perform complex, difficult, and sensitive emergency management, preparedness, response, and recovery work for disease outbreaks, emergencies, and disasters related to or impacting animal health and food safety with duties including but not limited to:
AHB Planning Program Lead
• Establishes, monitors and fully supports all program activities related to AHB planning, this includes, (but not limited to):
o Developing and maintaining Emergency Operations Plans (EOP)
o Develop and maintain mitigation plans
o Develop and maintain preparedness plans
o Develop and maintain resource management plans
o Conduct annual review and maintenance of AHB response plans
• Collaborates with AHB programs in statewide planning efforts
• Develop and update emergency plans, standard operating procedures, guidance documents, and policies in coordination with CDFA ESF-11 coordinator
Plan Coordination and Development
• Actively participates in research, planning, coordinating, evaluating and applying
o Emergency plans, purpose, situation, and assumptions
o Identification of planning components
o Concept of operations
o Follow-up on plan development, maintenance and annual review
o Determine planning needs for organizational assignment of responsibility
o Develop functional, hazard, and disease specific annexes
o Develop SOP’s and checklist

Working Conditions
The duties of this position are mostly conducted indoors, however incumbent may occasionally be required to work outside, under difficult conditions, and in non-standard office environments.
Travel (including nights, weekends, and holidays) for extended periods may be required for meetings and events as well as during an emergency response. Travel on short notice may be required upon activation for emergency response. During emergency response periods, duties may require working long shifts at hours other than the normal work hours.
The incumbent must follow CDFA, Division, and Branch employee health and safety policies.
Regular or recurring telework may occur as part of the incumbent’s ongoing regular schedule in accordance with CDFA's Telework Policy.

Special Requirements
