Job Duties:

  • You will supervise, mentor, and coordinate foremen, crews, and subcontractors to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
  • You will develop and adjust work sequencing, production plans, and manpower/equipment allocations to support project schedules.
  • You will utilize and oversee GPS and machine control systems to improve grading accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
  • You will coordinate heavy equipment usage, availability, and logistics to minimize downtime and maximize production.
  • You will interpret and enforce construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • You will enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • You will monitor daily production, quantities, and field conditions, and proactively address issues impacting schedule or cost.
  • You will communicate effectively with Project Managers, inspectors, engineers, and owners to support project execution.
  • You will maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and production tracking records.
  • You will support pre-construction and planning efforts by providing input on sequencing, equipment needs, and constructibility.

Requirements

Professional Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including experience as a Superintendent or senior field leader.
  • Experience managing high-volume earthwork projects requiring significant material movement and production-driven operations.
  • Strong understanding of excavation, grading, cut/fill balancing, and earthmoving logistics.
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with machine control systems (preferably Trimble Siteworks).
  • Solid understanding of heavy equipment operations, including dozers, excavators, scrapers, loaders, and haul trucks.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Strong safety knowledge and commitment to maintaining a safe jobsite.

Personal Strengths:

  • Hands-on, field-focused leader who leads by example.
  • Strong production mindset with attention to quantities, efficiency, and results.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
  • Calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented when faced with changing site conditions.
  • Clear communicator who works effectively with crews, management, and external partners.
  • Accountable, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality work safely and efficiently.
