Responsibilities
- Perform surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) and provide infection prevention education to clinical and support staff.
- Write and update infection prevention policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards from The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other national guidelines.
- Apply hospital epidemiology principles to monitor HAIs, including data collection, interpretation and dissemination of results to inform practice and policy.
- Conduct initial assessment and maintain records related to work injuries and illnesses; coordinate with Human Resources to ensure completion of employee health screenings, annual immunization updates, and workers’ compensation reporting.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and front-line staff to support infection prevention education, surveillance reporting, and timely policy implementation across the care setting.

Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in infection prevention or hospital epidemiology
- Knowledge of infection prevention standards and regulatory references (TJC, OSHA, CMS, CDC)
- Ability to conduct surveillance, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of HAIs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work day shifts in a hospital environment (about 20 hours per week)
