Position: Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full-cycle process for accounts payable and accounts receivable.


• Analyze profit and loss statements on a month-month basis and resolve identified discrepancies.


• Review and recommend modifications to improve the efficiency of processes within the department.


• Responsible for reviewing and preparation of all Property and Sales Tax documents and filings.


• Lead the efforts on preparation of annual budgets including spearheading the communication and coordination with department leaders. Responsible for monitoring and identifying variances to ensure escalation is timely and efficient.


• Assist with all tax audits and returns.


• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.


• Oversee the entire process for the month-end and year-end closing.


• Identify gaps and develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal control. Including the creation and/or modification of relevant SOPs.


• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.


• Manage a team of approximately 6-7 staff members with responsibility for performance reviews and coaching, counsel, and development.


• Spearhead all intercompany transfers and recordings for multi-state and multi-company transactions.


• Produce timely, error-free reports to various stakeholders upon request.
  

Qualifications:

• 4-5 years of demonstrated experience with problem solving and knowledge of accounting principles is required.


• 4-5 years of in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.


• 4-5 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency with financial accounting statements is required.


• 4-5 years of experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process is required.


• 4-5 years of required hands-on experience with accounting software packages is required. Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.


• 4-5 years of multi-state/multi-entity experience is required.
  


• Proficiency in MS Excel skills including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables is required.


• Accuracy and attention to detail is required


• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills are required.


• Trade Industry experience is preferred.
  

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.

Working Conditions: Multiple environments including office and warehouse.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000
