  • Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and surface plate inspection methods.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection requirements and select the appropriate inspection tools.
  • Apply strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) during inspections and while assisting production teams.
  • Serve as a technical resource for machinists by helping identify quality issues and providing guidance to produce conforming parts.
  • Support quality activities across multiple manufacturing buildings, working closely with inspectors and shop floor personnel.
  • Write and process Nonconformance Material Reports (NMRs) and assist with corrective action activities.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining quality procedures that support ISO and AS9100 certification efforts.
  • Participate in hiring discussions, employee performance reviews, and team development activities.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement and product quality.
Qualifications:
Required
  • 3–5 years of quality inspection, quality supervision, machining, or manufacturing experience; candidates with 10+ years of machining experience and strong inspection expertise are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience using common precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and surface plate inspection equipment.
  • Ability to determine the proper inspection methods and measuring tools for various part features.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems and standards, particularly ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach and mentor employees.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with machinists, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Previous experience leading or supervising quality personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting aerospace or precision manufacturing operations.
Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is a technically strong quality professional who enjoys working on the shop floor just as much as developing people.
