We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their fans and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live video, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases.Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we're leaders in that space, with:$10 billion+ generated by creators since Patreon's inception100 million+ free memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay just yet, and25 million+ paid memberships on Patreon today.We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Senior Web Engineer to support our mission.This role is based in San Francisco or in New York and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.About the TeamThe Community team at Patreon is building the core spaces where creators and fans interact in real time. We own Patreon Live, Chats, Comments, Reactions, Drops, and emerging collaboration features, the social layer that makes Patreon a place fans want to return to every day.Our mission is to help fans feel connected, seen, and part of something, and to help creators lead vibrant communities that reflect their identity and values. We operate across iOS, Android, Web, and Backend, partnering closely with Product, Design, Data, and Trust & Safety to build experiences that are engaging, safe, and deeply meaningful within niche fandoms.This is a fit-finding space — we move from hypothesis to shipped product quickly, with tight feedback loops between eng, product, and data.About the RoleOwn and deliver well-scoped full stack product feature milestones that help creators create content on Patreon.Drive technical design of components that are scalable, well tested and are easy to maintainCollaborate with product managers, data scientists, designers, and other engineers to deliver high quality features.Champion innovative solutions that enhance the usability and engagement with discovery featuresWhat you'll need5+ years of experience in software developmentExperience with React, next.js, Typescript or JavascriptExperience with Python or a similar languageExperience with SQL.Solid communication skills with cross-functional team membersEager to take on new challenges and expand skill setBuild a strong product-minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding engineersBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent professional experienceWe hire talented and passionate people from different backgrounds because workplace diversity and inclusion is critical to our ability to serve creators worldwide.
