Construction Project Executive Position Overview
Headquartered out of Los Angeles, we are a growing, respected Multifamily Real Estate Developer with highly efficient, cost-effective operations throughout Southern California. The Construction Project Executive will lead and oversee a portfolio of large-scale construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards while managing contracts, schedules, cost controls, and cross-functional teams. The Executive will partner with internal leadership, clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to drive performance, mitigate risk, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership and oversight for multiple construction projects across the portfolio, ensuring successful delivery in alignment with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Own project financial performance: develop and monitor budgets, implement cost control measures, forecast financial outcomes, approve change orders, and present accurate financial reporting to senior leadership.
- Negotiate, review, and manage contracts with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors; ensure compliance with contractual obligations and protect company interests.
- Develop and maintain realistic project schedules; coordinate scheduling resources, critical path analysis, and recovery plans to meet milestones and launch/completion dates.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through proactive risk management strategies, contingency planning, and insurance/contract provisions.
- Lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, and project teams; establish clear roles, expectations, and performance metrics.
- Serve as primary client and stakeholder contact for executive-level communications, status updates, and issue resolution; foster strong client relationships to support repeat business and referrals.
- Coordinate procurement and resource allocation to optimize supply chain, labor, and equipment utilization across projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs, quality control standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements on all projects.
- Support business development efforts by participating in bid reviews, estimating strategy, and pursuit planning for targeted multifamily and commercial opportunities.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in large-scale commercial and/or multifamily construction
- Proven experience leading complex projects with significant budgets and schedules
- Strong track record of managing teams and projects
- Advanced knowledge of construction contracts, cost controls, scheduling, and risk management
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field required
- Advanced certifications or continuing education in construction management, leadership or safety a plus
