Role Overview & Company Context

A global life sciences company supporting research and development efforts across the healthcare and scientific community. The organization operates internationally and partners with a broad range of stakeholders in a dynamic, growth oriented environment.

The Senior Accountant will support core accounting operations while partnering closely with finance leadership, sales, and operations teams. This role is based in the San Diego area and contributes to accurate financial reporting, month end close, and cross functional financial support. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast paced, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations with supporting documentation
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements and bi weekly sales reports
• Support general ledger, fixed assets, and overall accounting functions
• Assist with monthly and annual close processes and the annual budget
• Provide accounting guidance to site operations and corporate departments
• Analyze and validate financial data at the business segment and account level
• Support senior leadership with FP&A initiatives
• Assist with M&A related financial analysis and support
• Review and approve employee expense reports
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management

Qualifications

• 3 or more years of related accounting experience
• CPA preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and other ERP systems
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Bilingual English and Mandarin required
