Software Engineer, Sr. Staff - Android and Linux

## \nCompany:\n\nQualcomm Innovation Center, Inc.\n\n## Job Area:\n\nEngineering Group, Engineering Group \u003e Software Engineering\n\nGeneral Summary:\n\nFor this role we are seeking a talented and motivated Engineering lead with expertise in operating systems, android frameworks and linux kernel. The candidate will have opportunities to work on wide range of features across the Android Stack and Linux kernel.\n\nThe Engineering lead will be leading a small and agile group collaborating internally with cross functional team and externally with Android OS development team to Develop end to end solutions involving both user space and kernel space with optimal resource usage adhering to Android framework, Linux system \u0026 kernel programing principles.\n\nCollaborate with systems, multimedia, architecture, and other teams to develop system-level software solutions\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \n \n\u2022 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Master\u0027s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.\n * 10+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.\n * Excellent knowledge of OS fundamentals, data structure, Linux kernel and the device driver model\n * Hands on experience in Java, C++ Libraries/JNI, Python coding\n * Hands on experience with Android Application Framework, Android native daemons/services, AIDL HALs\n * Hands on experience with system programming on any Linux/Unix OS\n * Hands on experience in debugging with T32, gdb and crash analysis using android tombstones, T32, crash utility etc.,\n * Experience in Git, Android Make, Android Tools, Android Studio, Adb.\n * Experience in developing linux kernel drivers \u0026 modifying kernel code is a plus\n * Knowledge on usage of AI models, familiarity with python for AI/ML related software development is a plus\n\n\n\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
